Gift Certificates now available

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

How many of you have marked your calendars and know that Mothers Day falls on Sunday, May 8th this year? If you need a perfect gift idea, why not give the gift of a session with prints from Keepsake Images. There isn’t a mother in the world, myself included, who wouldn’t love to have portraits of her children and even with my child(ren) to enjoy long after the holiday has passed. Do you know of an expectant mother? Or someone who’s adopting a beautiful child? Light up their day with the gift of a maternity, newborn or Welcome Home session. Gift certificates are also great gifts for Family & Senior sessions too!

Wedding season is upon us – the days are getting brighter, the flowers will spring up soon and your social calendar will fill up with invites for couples ready to say ‘I do!”  A gift certificate is something they’ll be really grateful to receive – they can apply it towards the purchase of flush mount wedding albums, prints & gallery wraps – you can even be the gift-giver they’ll never forget by purchasing a custom Wedding Collection Gift Certificate (hi, Mom & Dad – reading this?) :)   Yes – you can pay for their entire wedding collection up front!!! Imagine the happy look on an engaged couples face when they realize you’ve got their photography budget covered. All smiles for sure.

Each Gift Certificate is ready to be gifted. We include a nice white envelope and will include a beautiful ribbon and a Keepsake Images sticker to seal the gift after you personalize it. Giving the gift of photography has never been easier and its a fresh & creative way to help someone decorate their home with images of people most important to them.

To purchase, simply contact me at info@keepsake-images.net or call 512.775.8912 to receive detailed information on rates for portrait or wedding collections.

Gorgeous Flush mount Wedding Albums

Sunday, January 30th, 2011

In a past blog post, I featured a 9×9 20 page Dream engagement Album. For 2011 I’ve not only recently launched a new mobile website, added Dream Boxes to every basic wedding collection, but I’ve decided to make my albums less “busy” and design them in a way that you don’t get caught up in the graphics on each page but rather the images take center stage on every.page.  The album seen below is a 12×12 40 page Dream Album and it is STUNNING. I’m pretty good at taking photos of my albums to share online, of course, but this is really a beauty that you can’t fully appreciate unless you hold it. With 2mm pages and a flush mount design , every image is drool worth as they’re printed on a 12×24 wide spread. I LOVE my album company because their colors are vibrant and the black and white photos take on such a crisp feel. If you’re wondering what other size options you can order for your album, please visit the website and download the current pricing guide. I’d love to meet with any interested brides and show you this beauty in person :)

Loan + Eric {You & Me Session, Austin Portrait Session}

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

The title is a tad misleading. Loan and Eric live in Houston, but during our session I learned that Loan actually grew up in Austin, attended Tx State University as I did (back when it was SWT the party school) and is a budding photographer herself!  They drove in for a special You & Me photo session because in two weeks they’ll be celebrating their one year anniversary. Congrats for making it to the first year! Tradition says that you’re to give your spouse paper as a gift for the 1st year anniversary. Doesn’t sound very interesting at first, does it?  But if you think about it : money is paper, tickets to Paris are paper, an all day gift certificate to a spa is paper and so are photographs. I love that they chose the last :)

Loan told me on the phone she LOVES the Soco Area (as we locals call it) so a South Congress Couples Session was in order! This area is probably where the “Keep it Weird” slogan came from as its filled with block after block of quirky boutiques filled with clothing and artifacts from local artisans. Its nice to go into a shop and purchase something that another is never going to find elsewhere. And yes, we did venture into the shops for a little bit of purchase guilt after the session, but DURING the session, OH.MY.GOODNESS. Did we ever have fun! Loan and Eric are so comfortable with one another and stylish I might add. They showcase exactly how the right pieces of clothing can pull quite a fun punch into a portrait session. If I had to shoot boring old “white top  with jeans” portrait everyday like they do at some of the corporate studios not worth naming, I.MIGHT.DIE.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it at least twenty times in the last week to my inquiring couples : it’s all about the layers and textures in your attire. Eric shows that you can still use a traditional shirt and jeans, but the stylish vest and tie make it WORK. Instantly you have a “look” that’s not formal, not stuffy GQ, but edgy in its own right. Loan herself can work it in those fancy 5″ heels. RAWR.

I live and love to be creative and quirky with my clients. With some colorful balloons and a couple ready to have some fun, we walked up and down South Congress and captured their love. More than a handful of times we laughed and in one area in particular, we laughed so hard we were in TEARS. Let’s just say that when you’re posing a couple its very important to pay attention to EVERYTHING or you may end up with something completely unexpected. HaHa!

Once again, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LOAN + ERIC !!!! I had such a fabulous time with you both. Lunch was yummy and hello, CUPCAKE! haha. Next time we WILL have our DosRita’s! :)
