Compatibility. That’s a word used quite often in this society since we’re so technical and according to the newsstands, Cosmo mag is guaranteed to include article (or 50) listing every way you and someone out there are that very thing – compatible. Technology is changing at quite a fast pace and while I”m not the first person in line buying the newest gadget, in business I’ve learned to recognize when its time to stay with the trend or be left behind. My current site is flash based, a big no-no according to some guy named Steve Jobs over at Apple, Inc. who refuses to allow Adobe to integrate with any of its products. What that means for me is that I can’t reach out to the millions of iPad users out there. They receive this big ugly message soon as they try to enter that says in so many words “sorry, honey, you’re out of luck.” And that is not ok with me in my book for several reasons: loss of potential leads and a reason to NOT buy an iPad and take it with me to my meetings. Well, I’ve made up my mind I wanted BOTH so the search began for solutions.
Lucky me. My favorite company out there offers customizable templates that worked with any Apple products and I snatched one up the day they were HALF OFF during the ImagingUSA convention in San Antonio. SWEET! The process began early this week and I’m about 80% complete with the setup of my galleries, but here’s a sneak peek of the new SECOND website I’ve designed. My current site isn’t going away, rather now all my visitors will have equal chance to choose which site to visit. In addition, my new site will detect when you’re on any mobile device and format the site to load efficiently for you. All of the menus will be available to you on the new site and you can even download my pricing lists in .pdf format using iBooks! Yeah!
Here’s a screenshot of it on a computer and then a few from my iPod. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Do you see the new “F” facebook icon in the lower left corner?
Now you can easily navigate to my facebook fan page w/ a single click. Using a phone or other mobile device, it becomes an active text link in the drop down menu.

I may be partial, but I think its pretty cool. I love that I’m able to keep both sites active and reach that many more brides and portrait clients. Stay tuned for the date Keepsake Images site part Deux goes LIVE!!!!
