Romance & Wine {Austin Engagement Session}
Thursday, November 18th, 2010The day began with rain. I peeked outside my window to find droplets constantly hitting my window and realized my scheduled engagement shoot at the winery was likely to be rescheduled. Totally bummed. But as always, Texas weather is unpredictable so we made the decision to just go for it. Rachael, JD and I climbed into their SUV and took a drive out to Duchman Family Winery in Driftwood. This would be the place we’d capture their engagement session. When we met it was clear to see we had the same interests and passion for photography. They realized my work is a million times better when I can get extra creative and they LOVE putting the extra effort into personalizing everything about their wedding. A do-it-yourself wedding couple who WANTS to bring props and personal items to an engagement session? YES PLEASE!!!! Sign me up as your photographer! I’m ALL IN!
The planning was detailed down to the color of the flowers chosen for the setting. Vintage tin cans, mason jars, wine, personal books and even a sweet little beach cruiser bike from the 60′s. Sigh. All the things after my own heart. The little things. Rachael and JD made this romantic “date” so amazing to photograph. There was not much need for direction on my part because what you’ll see below in the sneak peeks was all them. They are comfortably in love. The way JD nuzzles her makes me smile. The sweet way that Rachael looks at him makes me smile. This entire session MAKES ME SMILE
It may not be spring in Texas, but love is still in the air.
